In this catch-up round meeting, each team member provided an up-date on their current research projects:
- Adrian Edwards reminded the team of Rhodri Evans' thesis defense in Nijmegen scheduled for December. Rhodri's thesis is entitled: Achieving informed decision making using a web-based technology, Prosdex.
- Hannah Shipman offered an introduction to her new PhD project: Consent for novel techniques in clinical practice and genetic research.
- Emma Melbourne introduced her new project which seeks to evaluate the use of a paper based decision aid to improve tonsillectomy up-take after a GP referral.
- Sonja Kummer introduced her new PhD project: Screening for bowel cancer - implementation of a decision support tool to increase informed uptake.
- Ria Poole up-dated the group with her work on the Family Nurse Partnership and Evaluating Out if Hours Services projects.
- Paulina Bravo up-dated the group on her PhD project: Developing a decision support intervention using collaborative online methods for people living with HIV.
- Susan Peirce offered a round-up of her ESRC funded project: An innovative multidisciplinary patient centric early detection care model.
- Kate Lifford offered an overview of the PsychFocs study: A psychological evaluation of familial overian cancer screening.
- Visiting researcher, Ilse Kreuwel summarised her preparatory work on the development of a decision support intervention for women deciding whether to transfer one or two embryos when undergoing IVF.
- Cherry-Ann Waldron up-dated the group on her PhD project: Development and evaluation of a web-based risk calculator to predict heart disease.
- Stephanie Sivell gave an up-date on the BresDex study: A decision support intervention for women with early stage breast cancer, currently in pilot stage.
