Nina Gobat

Nina Gobat is a research student based at the Clinical Epidemiology IRG, School of Medicine, Cardiff University. Her PhD project is entitled: 'Agenda setting in behaviour change consultations'. Agenda setting is a communication skill that can help clinicians structure their consultations so that they work in partnership with their patients. Although much has been written about this skill, it is still unclear what the individual components of skilful practice involve. Clarifying these and finding a way to measure them can help improve the quality of teaching it to clinicians, and so improve the quality of care that is offered. Nina's project aims to develop a measure that can be used in teaching clinicians to use agenda setting skilfully when working with patients who have long-term conditions.
