Ria Poole

Ria Poole is a research student based at the Clinical Epidemiology IRG, Cardiff University. Ria's PhD project is entitled: 'Clinical predictors of outcome in group psychoeducation for bipolar disorder'. The study aims to assess how the following features influence response to group psychoeducation:

  1. Diagnostic sub-group (Bipolar disorder type-I, versus bipolar disorder type-II and bipolar spectrum disorder)
  2. Personality disorder traits
  3. Co-morbid medical (eg, diabetes, obesity) and psychiatric (eg, alcohol misuse, anxiety disorders) illnesses
  4. Cognitive function
  5. Demographics
  6. We will also explore therapist effects.
